Luckily, we have just the recipe for you. This crispy tofu with chili soy sauce recipe is simple to make, packed with flavour, and adds a colourful, festive touch to your Raya spread. 💚

Ingredients You’ll Need

For the Crispy Tofu:

  • Firm Tofu (tauhu): 10–12 cubes
  • Ayam Bestari flour: ½ cup
  • Rice flour: 3 tbsp
  • Water: 2 cups
  • Salt: ½ tsp
  • Sugar: ½ tsp
  • Cooking oil: for frying

For the Dipping Sauce:

  • Light soy sauce: 3 tbsp
  • Black vinegar: 1 tbsp
  • Red chilli (chopped): 1 tsp
  • Green chilli (chopped): 1 tsp
  • Cilantro (chopped): 1 tbsp
  • Sugar: ½ tsp

Step-by-Step Instructions

Crispy Tofu:

  1. In a bowl, mix ½ cup Ayam Bestari flour, 3 tbsp rice flour, salt, and 2 cups of water to make the batter.
  2. Cut the tofu (tauhu) into 4 pieces.
  3. Coat the tofu pieces evenly with the batter.
  4. Heat oil and deep fry the tofu until golden and crispy.
  5. For extra crispiness, pour about 2 tbsp of batter over the tofu while frying.

Dipping Sauce:

  1. In a small bowl, combine 3 tbsp light soy sauce and 1 tbsp black vinegar.
  2. Add 1 tsp chopped red chili, 1 tsp chopped green chili, 1 tbsp chopped cilantro, and ½ tsp sugar.
  3. Stir well and serve alongside the crispy tofu.
